March 12, 2018 - March 16, 2018 Weekly Agenda for Theatre Arts

Monday, March 12th:
Standard:
Development of character and understanding of the scene.
Targeted Objective:
Students will enhance their understanding of the character through the creation of the character's back story. Students will also understand the structure of plot - exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution.
Agenda:
1. Students will perform their original, self-created back story of their character; this is called the "Inciting Event" which precipitates the scene in the play. The audience will provide constructive critical feedback on the student's creation of a precipitating event in the life of the character.
2. The students will then watch a rehearsal of a scene. By watching the rehearsal of the scene, the actors will learn stage conventions such as blocking, stage movement, vocal projection, character objectives, and how movement reveals intentions and unconscious desires.
Reflection:
How has the event affected my character and precipitated the events in the story?
Homework:
Learn your lines and continue working on your "Who, What, Where, When, How" Journals

The following groups will perform their "Inciting Event" on Monday and Tuesday:
