to tell Carter, the employee, that her hair is too “urban” for the office space
Elizabeth is offering valuable input on the
above scene
Jessyka and Hope are both writing the scene
and the following monologue about being bi-racial which will be performed by
Carter

Need to create something that conveys
what “Becky” is.
Carter read Jessyka’s monologue regarding
hair – “Becky hair”
"Imagine that everyday you wake up and have
to deal with your “Becky” hair.
Or having to be in fear for your life with
your “Becky” skin..."
Office scene:
Participants:
Hope – director; Jessyka – writer;
Elizabeth – idea generator; Carter – actress/idea generator; writers: Dale and
Chris
Office Scene segues into Carter’s soliloquy - see above
Improv: Dale as HR manager interviewing
Carter about her hair not fitting into the culture of the office.
Dale: We've looked at your resume. You
went to a good school.
Elizabeth: Your hair is a little too
unprofessional. It doesn’t fit
into our work place.
Carter: What do you mean?
Elizabeth: Well, the cornrows really don’t
fit into the culture of our company.
Carter: Well, I can take them out.
Elizabeth: Really? What would your hair look
like if you took out the cornrows – is it frizzy, or is it like Oprah?
Number of students went to see Ms. Casalino to learn the Black National Anthem
Finish writing the scene tonight.
Everyone send me their music files and/or photo/video files and a list of where it should go.
